Manta is a set of easy-to-use and secure (open source and auditable code) protocols based on Substrate frameworks. It is building as a layer-1 solution, this means that privacy will exist in the core architecture, rather than a feature sitting on top of another blockchain.

The major challenges faced today is the fact that blockchain lacks privacy, interoperability, and usability, this obviously has resulted into many other issues. For this reason, the Manta Network intends to realize a private DeFi through it’s 2 major protocols: the decentralized private payment protocol and the decentralized private token exchange protocol.

This will be done through the underlying logic to mint private coins/tokens with stable coins and other base tokens on the contract at a minting value ratio of 1:1. Apart from that, a decentralized private swap platform will support the exchange of these privacy tokens.
